Whilst having building work done, we needed storage of items and furniture and this included items that I we needed on hand to be able to use. Having the storage at our property was a perfect solution and also saved us having to transport all our items to a unit somewhere. The process of the company erecting the unit and then dismantling it when we were finished was seamless. Due to unforeseen delays, we had the unit for quite a bit longer than we had anticipated but this was not a problem. The unit was used to store a sofa suite amongst lots of other items and because they had been in there for over a year, we were worried about the condition they would be in. I needn't have worried as they were perfectly fine, dry and not at all damp. I would thoroughly recommend this company...they are friendly, the communication is excellent and it's hassle free. Reasonable price and good services, truly a life saver during our house moving. We used 2 pods to store our stuff during our house move. Adam had the pods for us on time, and we would upload our boxes and misc items at our own pace. Document and tags for the pods were given as records. By moving out more than 50% of our stuff 2 weeks before moving house, it significantly releases house space so that we would pack the reming items more easily, and not have a mountain of boxes, hence less impact on the daily living before moving. After settling and setting down in the new house, we have the pods delivered to our doors when we are ready. Such a wonderful service. Door to Store offers a convenient, hassle free storage solution. We deliver a storage unit to your property and set it up manually in the location of your choice. You can keep your belongings in the unit for as long as you need. When you’re done, we’ll disassemble and collect the empty unit, making storage easy and stress free
Our storage units are charged weekly, with payments processed every four weeks. In addition to the weekly hire fee, there is a charge for the installation and removal of the units, and we offer discounts for long-term rentals. For locations over 30 miles from the nearest base, a mileage fee of £2.00 + VAT per mile applies.
At the time of booking, we require payment for the installation and the first four weeks of hire in advance. Following this initial four-week minimum period, hire charges are charged weekly, with invoices automatically generated and sent out every four weeks. Payments are processed accordingly, and any overpayment will be credited when you schedule your storage unit deinstallation. We accept a variety of payment methods, including Direct Debit, PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Electron, Switch, and Delta cards
You are responsible for securing and insuring the storage unit and its contents. Our storage units are designed with two deadlocks on the door, providing enhanced security. It is important to properly engage the deadlocks whenever you leave the unit unattended, ensuring the utmost safety for your belongings.
While you are responsible for insuring the storage unit and its contents, it is worth noting that in many cases, contents stored in our units and sometimes the units themselves are typically covered by standard contents insurance policies. We recommend reviewing your existing insurance policy or contacting your insurance provider to confirm if your stored items and the unit are covered. They can provide guidance on any additional coverage you may need or assist in extending your policy to include the storage unit and it’s contents.
It is important to note that the company is not liable for any loss or damage to the contents of the unit. We advise taking necessary precautions to safeguard your belongings and regularly reviewing your insurance coverage to ensure adequate protection.
Additionally, any damage caused to the unit during the hire period will be your responsibility, and any necessary repairs or replacements will be billed accordingly at the end of the hire period. We encourage you to handle the unit with care and report any damages or issues promptly for timely resolution.
By securing your storage unit, obtaining appropriate insurance coverage, and being vigilant about any potential damage, you can ensure the safety and protection of your stored items throughout the duration of the hire period.
The minimum length for storage unit hire at Door to Store is four weeks. After this period, the charging intervals change to weekly, with billing occurring every four weeks. There is no maximum length for storage, and we offer discounts and incentives for long-term storage of six months and above.
For home storage, we recommend placing the unit in the rear garden, patio, or driveway, preferably on hard, semi-level ground. We can accommodate uneven ground, but additional materials may be required to level the unit, which needs to be agreed upon before installation.
Our storage units come in various sizes, starting from 2×2 meters (40 square feet) and weighing approximately 250kg per 2 meters when fully constructed.
Yes, our units are weatherproof and designed to protect your belongings from rain, snow, and other harsh weather conditions, ensuring your items remain safe and dry. However, if you’re storing fabrics like sofas or mattresses, we recommend using condensation sticks like Absorpoles to absorb excess moisture from the air. These are available for purchase at an additional cost.
Sorry, the unit can only be transported and assembled by our trained technicians to ensure correct setup and safety standards are met. We handle the delivery and assembly for you, so you don’t have to worry about the process.
If you run out of space in your hired unit, we have flexible options to accommodate your needs. We can either add an extension to your current unit, as they are modular, or deliver and set up an additional unit. This allows you to expand your storage space easily without hassle

Yes, you can cancel an existing booking. If you need to cancel a reservation, kindly call us or email us at least 7 days before the scheduled hire start date to avoid any charges. Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled start date will incur a charge equivalent to the full-service installation charge.
We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and can work with as little as 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability. During busier times, it’s advisable to book with as much notice as possible for both installations and de-installations. For de-installation and collection, we require a minimum of 7 days’ notice.
Yes, there are certain items that cannot be stored. These include combustible, flammable, hazardous, and/or toxic materials such as gasoline, compressed gas, propane tanks, and various chemicals. Perishable foods, stolen items, illegal goods, live plants, and radioactive materials are also prohibited.
