Our on-site heavy duty steel panel “flat pack” storage units are light enough to be manhandled, small enough to fit through tight passageways with no need for cranes or forklifts, and in good conditions can be assembled in under an hour.

How Does HomeStore Work?

We deliver a “flat pack” on-site storage unit directly to your home or business and assemble it in a suitable location where it stays for the duration of hire. When you have finished storing your possessions, we will return to disassemble and take the unit away

Our storage unit’s come in a range of different sizes, from 40 ft2 upwards and they are expandable, so if you fill your unit and need more space, we can just add an extension to your current unit.

How does HomeStore work?

We deliver a flat packed storage unit to your property and assemble it in a suitable location and leave it there for you to store your belongings in for as long as you need. When you have finished storing your belongings, we will return, disassemble and collect the empty storage unit.

Do I have to load the unit myself?

This depends on what you prefer. You can either load the storage unit yourself, or our professionally trained loading experts will assist you with that. We provide both self-storage loading and unloading services, so you wouldn’t have to stress yourself much with the physical side.

How big are the units and what do they weigh?

Our storage units come in a range of different sizes, they are also expandable, so if you run out of space we can add an extension to the already installed storage unit. The most common sizes are 2 x 2 meters, 2 x 4 meters, 2 x 6 meters, 4 x4 meters, 4 x 6 meters. Fully constructed, they weigh from 300kgs upwards.

Where do you install the storage unit?

If you are storing the unit at your home then ideally the rear garden, patio or driveway, but ideally somewhere with hard, level ground. We can set the storage unit up on uneven ground, but that would need to be agreed with us prior to the installation of your unit as additional materials may be needed to level your unit.

How secure are your storage units?

Our storage units are locked using two 64mm deadlocks, both with individual keys that are supplied with your unit. All the panels are constructed out of steel and are bolted together from the inside.

Is the unit weatherproof?

Yes, our units are weatherproof.

They will not leak, even with an extension added to them. We also offer insulation kits to go in the units for that added protection against the elements, these are available at an additional weekly cost.

Can I build the storage unit myself and save on the set up fee?

Sorry but no.

We can only allow our own trained technicians to build the units.

Can you add more space to the unit if I run out of room?

Yes, we can.

Our storage units are expandable, so if you find that the unit you have ordered has filled up quicker than you thought, then we can just add and extension to it.

What areas do you cover?

Our service area primarily covers London, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. However, if you’re outside our service area, you can give us a call, and we’ll see if we can fix something up for you. Additional charges may apply.

Can I cancel my unit delivery?

Yes, you can.

If you need to cancel an existing booking at any time, kindly call us on 0800 043 9302 or email Note that there is no charge to cancel the reservation, AS LONG AS it is more than 48 business hours before the bookings schedule time. Cancellations within 48 business hours of the scheduled time incur a £75 administration charge.

How much notice do you need?

We work on a strict first come first serve basis, and we can work with as little as 24 hours notice; however, this is subject to availability.

Certain times of the year are busier than others, so we advise you book with as much notice as possible. This applies to both installations and de-installations.

If you wish to have your storage unit de-installed and collected, we require not less than 7 days notice.

Can I purchase boxes and packing materials from you?

Yes, you can purchase them directly on our website.

We provide a broad range of packing materials such as boxes, tapes, furniture covers etc. which can be delivered with your storage unit or before.

What are the payment terms?

We accept payment via Direct Debit, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal

We will provide your first invoice and require payment prior to delivery and installation of your storage unit. Payment can be made using our online terminal.

For long term storage we either require a direct debit to be set up or card details to be kept on file. Hire invoices will be automatically sent out and the transaction processed every 4 weeks.

Note that after the initial 4 weeks minimum hire period, we charge the hire fee at weekly intervals. You will be refunded any over payment when you book your storage unit for collection.

Is there a minimum or maximum length for hire?

The minimum length for hire is 4 weeks. After this period, the charging intervals change to weekly. Please note that billing occurs every 4 weeks.

There is no maximum length for hire, and we offer discounts and incentives for long term hire of 6 months and above.

Is there anything I can't store in the unit?

Yes, there is.

For us to give you the best customer satisfaction, we don’t allow the storage of the following;

Combustible, Flammable, Hazardous and/or Toxic Materials

These materials are considered inherently dangerous and may pose a threat to your storage units and the property around it. These materials include, but not limited to gasoline, compressed gas, propane tanks, kerosene, lamp, and motor oil, acid, grease, corrosives, fertilizers, paint, cleaners, chemicals, narcotics, or hazardous, toxic or biological waste. We also don’t allow firearms, ammunition, fireworks, asbestos and/or asbestos-containing products, and any form of explosives.

Perishable foods and animal products

We allow the storage of canned foods, however, we don’t allow the storage of perishable food products like pet food, meats, and other products that are likely to spoil and attract pests.

Stolen Items/Illegal Goods

We take this very seriously. If you don’t legally own the property, you can’t legally store it.

Live Plants

The climate inside a storage unit is not suitable for live plants, and we abstain from storing them. Storing live plants will lead to the death of the plants and attraction of insects and vermin.

Medical/Pharmaceutical Equipment

Though we accept some medical supplies and equipment, radioactive equipment and/or any radioactive containing material cannot be legally stored in our units.
